With the ever increasing number of new Muslim background believers, especially in North Africa, there is a growing need to equip these new believers with tools that will help them to mature in their faith and enable them to lead the small house churches that are on the increase. There are often no seminaries or Bible schools in North Africa to train these young leaders. Often, when bright, young leaders leave their home country to study in the Middle East, Europe or North America, they fail to return to where they are needed most.

PALM PALM (Preparing Active Leaders for Ministry) has been developed to meet this specific need. It is an integrated training programme that develops curriculum, trains tutors and instructs national churches to carry out biblical training in the local area. PALM staff members give practical training in how to use the inductive method for individual or group study. Students are encouraged to develop their gifts and pass on their skills to others. Training seminars are held in a variety of locations throughout the region.

PALM endeavours to make low-cost training materials readily available in a variety of formats for all believers. CDs are available for those with computers, who can then print their own materials, while paper copies are provided for those without. PALM material can also be downloaded from the internet for those who have access.

PALM courses have been designed specifically for Muslim background believers. National believers have been involved at every stage of course development and the materials are presented in Arabic, French, Berber and Spanish.

A national Arab-world church is not possible without solid leadership.
